I have had this twitter account since 2009 - I post personal, fandom, opinions, political commentary, and completely random thoughts all to this account. Additionally, my followers include a mix of people I know IRL, people I met online, and people I met online who became my IRL friends.
I do not have time to do a background check on every account I retweet from. Just because I RT from an account does not mean I endorse/agree with that person.
I am very very very big on "don't yuck someone else's yum" and "just let people enjoy things as long as they are not hurting anyone."
I got into fandom very late - in my late 20s. Prior to that I was strictly a fangirl for musicians and artists and followed them around, and my internet experience was baring my soul on a moderately sized blogging site. I lived a full life before fandom tbh- traveled my country & outside of it, met many different people, experienced many different life-changing things- and because of this, I know almost all discourse that occurs in fandom- as long as it does not turn into bullying and doxxing- has no effect on IRL shit whatsoever and therefore I am not interested in ANY of it. Unless you're a friend, I mute and block for discourse pretty liberally but occasionally will make a snarky "what the fuck are y'all even talking about??" type of comment if I start seeing too much of it ð
Constructive criticism is of course different than discourse and while it can be important to observe media with a critical eye, I do not let that prevent me from enjoying most things. I love to enjoy things. If you like to be critical, I honestly do not care to see it. I just want to have fun. You do you, but babe I've got a lot of love to give and TONS of things to gush about!!
Potential triggers for you: I talk about depression, sex, alcohol, and drugs pretty casually and usually without TWs (depending on the context I sometimes do). I am in recovery for an eating disorder I had for ~15 years, but do TW/CW when I go into detail about it. I also often post about wishing for my father to d+e a painful death. That shouldn't bother you, he's a terrible person.
On the topic of triggers: I know how to mute and mind my own triggers so if I follow you, don't worry about me! Also, if you follow me for an otome game fandom, please note that I play as a self-insert in all my otoge, so my triggers and squicks in otoge are not necessarily my squicks in other fiction, in case you are quick to bring up anything "contradictory" I may say about certain feelings I have regarding certain character's routes!!!
